Pie Friday – Chocolate Mousse Pie

Oh my, it’s hot here in Missouri in July! So this week I want to share a cool refrigerator pie, one that my entire family loves. This pie comes together quickly, and uses few ingredients. It makes a great potluck pie for your next church supper!

You can use any pie crust you want for this recipe. I like the chocolate cookie crusts you can buy already made. Make your own, or use a ready-made one if you are crunched for time. Nobody here will judge you for it!

Yield: 6 to 8 servings

Chocolate Mousse Pie


  • 7 oz milk chocolate (you can use chocolate chips, a candy bar, whatever you have handy)
  • 1 1/2 cups mini marshmallows
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream, whipped
  • 1 graham cracker or chocolate crumb pie crust


Add chocolate, marshmallows, and milk to a heavy saucepan and cook on low heat, stirring constantly, until chocolate is melted and mixture is smooth.  Let chocolate mixture cool.   (This is a great time to whip your whipped cream!)  Fold whipped cream into cooled chocolate mixture.  Pour into crust.  Refrigerate for at least 3 hours before serving.
